CreateInOneIt doesn’t matter how you create a Word or Excel document these days, but where you save it determines what your options are. OneDrive and SharePoint are the same here, you can create files and start working with them. You might just need to start fresh by saving your latest draft as the new draft in OneDrive, or SharePoint. Then at least you can automatic versions so you are doing Save As multiple times on the document to manually create versions.
